As a therapist, I aim to create a safe, empathic, and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy is a collaborative process where we can identify and overcome challenges to reduce your stress together. Often my clients have insights into their difficulties but feel stuck in patterns that are getting in the way of their ability to function. I help my clients process unresolved conflicts by helping them to explore complex emotions and identify barriers and conflicts around change.

My therapeutic style is primarily psychodynamic, and I view our relationship as an important aspect of our work together. I also draw on my public health background to make clients aware of the myriad of other factors that can impact their mental health. For example, environmental, political, financial, and societal factors can negatively affect individuals' well-being. I believe therapy is a human right and I enjoy helping people from all facets of life. I have special expertise working with individuals with anxiety, depression, time management, identity concerns, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Training

I earned my M.A. in clinical psychology from The New School and an M.P.H. from NYU School of Global Public Health. My research interests focus on Queer Black women and the impact of COVID-19 on their mental health and substance use. I am also currently exploring the connection between perfectionism and imposter syndrome in LBGTQ Black college students. My prior positions have been at Safran Center for Psychological Services, Lenox Hill Hospital and The New School Counseling Center.
