There are so many ways that human beings can suffer– feeling disconnected from loved ones, anxious about the future, or burdened by the weight of the past. Together, we can make sense of your present difficulties in the context of both your past and your hopes for the future.

I believe in the power of relationships in and outside the therapy room to boost resilience and to resource us all through the rollercoaster of life. I work to create a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, responsive and hopeful. As we build trust and safety in our relationship, I prioritize delivering a range of treatments backed by science to help you meet your goals. My hope is that you feel both held and confident in our capacity to make change together.

For individual therapy, I will use individually-tailored, evidenced-based approaches to support you in gaining greater understanding, self-compassion, and the skills needed to build a more meaningful life aligned with what matters most to you.

If you are seeking out couples therapy, we will work together to make sense of how you and your partner get caught up in a painful cycle of disconnection, gaining understanding of the hurt underneath these moments. From there, I will help you build new ways of connecting to each other, strengthening your bond.

No matter the treatment, I will join with you to promote healing and growth, using warmth, empathy, attunement to identity and culture, and a non-judgmental, affirming stance.  While pain is inevitable to the human experience, I hope to create an environment where you can feel seen and supported as you learn to navigate these experiences effectively, re-connecting to yourself and others.

Training

I earned my doctorate from Rutgers University and I completed my internship training in the New York Harbor VA Healthcare System—Brooklyn Campus. Following this, I gained specialized training in a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center Military Family Center. I have served as Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical Center and an Attending Psychologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

I have extensive training in evidence-based assessment and treatment for adults and couples who are struggling with relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress. I hold national provider status in both Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, two gold standard treatments for PTSD. I have also received international certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy to support couples in strengthening their bonds. I see learning as a lifelong journey aligned with my value of providing excellent care and I continue to engage in training as both a student and as a teacher.
