Therapeutic Approaches

While each therapist brings their own style and perspective, our clinicians draw from a blend of the following therapeutic approaches to guide their work.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy helps you understand how past experiences and unconscious patterns influence your current thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Through greater self-awareness, this approach helps you resolve internal conflicts, deepen insight, and create lasting emotional growth.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach helps identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop practical strategies to manage stress, shift perspective, and improve daily functioning.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy provides structured support for people who experience intense emotions or mood swings. Through mindfulness and behavioral strategies, DBT helps you regulate emotions, handle stress, and strengthen communication and relationships. You will develop a stable sense of self, learn to regulate your emotions, and effectively interact with others.

  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy helps people safely confront memories, thoughts, and situations related to trauma in a structured and supportive way. Over time, this approach reduces avoidance and distress, helping you regain a sense of control and safety.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy is a trauma-focused treatment that helps you reframe unhelpful beliefs and thoughts connected to past events. The goal is to reduce guilt, shame, and fear while building healthier ways of thinking and relating.

  • EMDR Therapy helps the brain process distressing memories and experiences to reduce their emotional impact. This structured approach is often used to treat trauma, anxiety, and other stress-related concerns.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you build psychological flexibility by learning to accept your thoughts and emotions while staying grounded in your values. This approach teaches skills to move through difficulties and make meaningful changes in your life.

  • Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy helps partners understand and transform the emotional patterns that keep them feeling stuck. By strengthening emotional connection and communication, EFCT fosters trust, security, and closeness in relationships.

  • Somatic Therapy approaches recognize that our bodies hold important information about stress, trauma, and emotional experience. In addition to traditional talk therapy, these approaches pay attention to bodily sensations, movement, breath, and nervous system responses as pathways for healing, increased regulation, and a deeper mind-body connection.

Areas We Support

Our team helps people navigate a variety of challenges and life transitions. Below are some of the concerns we most frequently address.

Payment & Insurance

  • We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, we submit out-of-network insurance claims on your behalf for most major plans—including Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare—to make reimbursement as simple and straightforward as possible.

Our team manages the process from start to finish, including verifying your benefits, submitting claims, and following up as needed. This way, you can focus on your therapy while we handle the paperwork.

If you would like to confirm your coverage directly, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

    1. Do I have out-of-network mental or behavioral health benefits? (These are typically part of PPO or POS plans.)

    2. Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and how much has been met this year?

    3. What is my coinsurance rate? (Most range from 20% to 40% of the session fee. For example, for a $200 session, you may be reimbursed $120 to $160.)

    4. What is the usual and customary rate for outpatient psychotherapy, CPT code 90834?

  • We accept Zelle, HSA/FSA cards, or credit card for payment.

If you have questions about fees or reimbursement, our team is happy to help you understand your options.
