I am the Founder and Director of Therapists of New York, one of the largest group practices in New York. Therapists of New York is set apart from other group practices by our focus on selectively matching patients with exclusively doctoral level psychologists. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I specialize in supervising and training psychologists who work in private practice, as well as providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and couples. My therapeutic approach blends psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to create a tailored experience for each individual.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as the Director of Clinical Development and Senior Supervisor at Therapists of NY. In these roles, I oversee various aspects of our staff’s clinical practice, ensuring they have the support to provide the highest quality care.
My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in my training as a dance/movement therapist and my deep awareness of the connection between the mind and the body. This offers another way for you to understand how past experiences, tough situations, and stress impact your life. Our bodies are always with us, and it's no surprise that our emotions, thoughts, and worries are expressed through them. It could be a shaking leg before speaking in public, a tight stomach when meeting someone important, or a memory that you feel in your body.
I believe in the power of relationships in and outside the therapy room to boost resilience and to resource us all through the rollercoaster of life. I work to create a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, responsive and hopeful. As we build trust and safety in our relationship, I prioritize delivering a range of treatments backed by science to help you meet your goals. My hope is that you feel both held and confident in our capacity to make change together.
My training includes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy (click here for details). Therapy can include targeted change, rapid symptom relief, mindfulness and self-compassion skills, and deep personal exploration and growth. My goals go beyond symptom reduction to help clients cultivate richness, intimacy, and meaning in their lives. My clients learn to lead their lives with greater intention and vitality.
I earned my M.A. in Psychology from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with Health Emphasis from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. During my clinical training, I have held clinical positions at The Parnes Clinic, New York Presbyterian-Westchester Behavioral Health Center, Brooklyn VA, and the New York Harbor VA Healthcare System- Manhattan campus. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System, Honolulu.
Self-discovery is a lifelong, fluid process that can feel both challenging and empowering. Many people seek out therapy when they feel stuck, held back by old narratives and unhelpful patterns that no longer serve them. I view therapy as an opportunity to embrace change and see oneself more fully. When we deepen our awareness, we can strengthen our sense of agency and move toward a more meaningful life.
The reasons people seek out therapy are multifaceted. Very often, people find themselves feeling stuck in patterns that are confusing and daunting, even when they have some sense of what it might take to live a more fulfilling life. These patterns tend to persist in large part due to a lack of resources, whether time, supportive relationships, or unmet needs. Attempting to regain and nourish these resources can be difficult to do alone. While everyone’s journey will look different, my goal as a therapist is to help clients make sense of unwanted patterns, collaboratively create a roadmap, and move toward a more fulfilled and flexible life.
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, where my research focused on the grief experience of individuals bereaved by suicide. During my training, I worked at Hunter College Counseling and Wellness Services, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Therapists of New York, and the Parnes Clinic. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I received specialized training in working with individuals and couples affected by loss and trauma.
I welcome individuals of all backgrounds and aim to provide care that is attuned to each person's unique experiences, identities, and values. Together, we can explore the relationships and broader contexts that have shaped how you understand yourself and move through the world, while also developing the insight and skills needed to navigate life's challenges. I believe that combining thoughtful exploration with practical support creates space for meaningful growth and lasting change.

As a therapist, I work to build a warm and honest relationship, one where you feel cared for while being gently pushed to try something new. I try to be a steady, direct presence; someone who will sit with you in what's painful while helping you see the patterns you might be too close to notice yourself. My goal is that our work leaves you feeling more understood and more capable of changing the things you want to change in your life.
