People come to therapy for many reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, uncomfortable emotions, relationship difficulties, or patterns that no longer serve you. You may also want to understand yourself and others more deeply, navigate a transition, strengthen your relationship, or make your mental health a more intentional part of your overall well-being.
As your therapist, I will meet you where you are and help you explore both the concerns that bring you to therapy and the challenges that emerge along the way. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and influenced by humanistic, psychodynamic, multicultural, and evidence-based practices. In my work with couples, I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners recognize recurring patterns that leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. Together, we will explore what gets activated for each of you and develop new ways of communicating that foster greater understanding, security, and emotional closeness.
Our work will consider how your identity, relationships, past experiences, and the larger context in which you live shape the way you experience yourself and the world. By developing greater insight into these influences, you can begin to shift longstanding patterns, make choices that feel more aligned with your values, and connect with a more authentic sense of self. Because therapy requires vulnerability and courage, I prioritize creating a relationship grounded in consistency, safety, and trust.
I also specialize in trauma-informed treatment and offer several evidence-based approaches for post-traumatic stress disorder such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which I tailor to your individual needs. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can help people process traumatic or distressing experiences and reduce the emotional and physical reactions that continue after the event has passed. Our work can help you address the experiences of disconnection that trauma can cause, helping you reconnect with yourself, others, and the world, while building on the strengths and resources you already possess. The goal is to help you create a life guided less by trauma and more by your values and what matters to you.
I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, relationship difficulties, trauma, and post-traumatic stress reactions. I also have specialized experience working with veterans and military families. I welcome clients across racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, religious and spiritual practices, body sizes, and ability statuses. I invite open exploration of our unique and intersecting identities and how they shape our relationship.
