Early in our lives, as we navigate suffering, we learn ways of being in the world – patterns of acting, thinking, identifying. Sometimes, what worked then doesn’t work now. Through greater awareness of emotions and the body, I help my clients explore what really works and learn new ways of responding to life’s challenges. With an understanding of how patterns developed and served them in the past, my clients have more freedom and flexibility to define who they are and who they want to be.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based. We will discuss your difficulties while also building an attainable vision for your future. To do that, we will work together to build a safe environment where you are able to speak freely and be yourself. I build warm relationships grounded in authenticity and emotional presence.

My training includes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy (click here for details). Therapy can include targeted change, rapid symptom relief, mindfulness and self-compassion skills, and deep personal exploration and growth. My goals go beyond symptom reduction to help clients cultivate richness, intimacy, and meaning in their lives. My clients learn to lead their lives with greater intention and vitality.

I have worked with diverse clients of all ages, specializing in adults and emerging adults. I have experience with a wide array of challenges including depression, anxiety, career and school difficulties, relationship issues, loss and grief, self-harm, trauma, and difficulties related to gender, sexuality, and racial identity. I provide flexible services that we will adapt to your current needs.

In addition to psychotherapy, I offer psychological testing for adults, adolescents, and children. Testing provides a clear understanding of psychological or cognitive strengths and weaknesses, patterns of behavior, or specific accommodations for school or standardized tests.
