About
Therapists of New York
Therapists of New York is a team of doctoral-level psychologists with offices in Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, Montclair, New Jersey, and Los Angeles, California.
Our practice is carefully curated, bringing together some of the most talented and dedicated therapists in New York City. With a wide range of specialties and styles, our team is here to support individuals, couples, and families through life’s many challenges.
Whether you’re seeking general support with your mental health or help for a specific concern, we’ll work with you to tailor your therapy experience to fit your needs. To make care more accessible and personal, our therapists also offer treatment in several languages, including Arabic, Hebrew, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Spanish, and Turkish.
Finding the right therapist.
Made simple.
For over a decade, we’ve set ourselves apart with a uniquely hands-on approach to helping people find the right psychologist. Your first step is a conversation with a senior psychologist who knows our team inside and out.
We take the time to understand what you’re looking for and connect you with the clinician who best fits your goals, needs, and personality.
What We Offer
Meet Our Therapists
Aleksandra Rayska, Ph.D.
My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in my training as a dance/movement therapist and my deep awareness of the connection between the mind and the body. This offers another way for you to understand how past experiences, tough situations, and stress impact your life. Our bodies are always with us, and it's no surprise that our emotions, thoughts, and worries are expressed through them. It could be a shaking leg before speaking in public, a tight stomach when meeting someone important, or a memory that you feel in your body.
Julie Svigals, Psy.D.
I welcome individuals of all backgrounds and aim to provide care that is attuned to each person's unique experiences, identities, and values. Together, we can explore the relationships and broader contexts that have shaped how you understand yourself and move through the world, while also developing the insight and skills needed to navigate life's challenges. I believe that combining thoughtful exploration with practical support creates space for meaningful growth and lasting change.
Lizzie Aviv, Ph.D.
As a therapist, I work to build a warm and honest relationship, one where you feel cared for while being gently pushed to try something new. I try to be a steady, direct presence; someone who will sit with you in what's painful while helping you see the patterns you might be too close to notice yourself. My goal is that our work leaves you feeling more understood and more capable of changing the things you want to change in your life.
Yoonjin Kim, Ph.D.
My approach to therapy is warm, creative, and relational. I integrate trauma-informed and psychodynamic perspectives with evidence-based skills to help you explore and move beyond patterns that may no longer serve you. In my work with couples and people in other relationship structures, I help you understand the patterns that shape your interactions, navigate places where your needs and vulnerabilities may collide, and discover new ways of relating that can forge a path toward healing and deeper connection.
