Emily Matis, Psy.D.
Self-discovery is a lifelong, fluid process that can feel both challenging and empowering. Many people seek out therapy when they feel stuck, held back by old narratives and unhelpful patterns that no longer serve them. I view therapy as an opportunity to embrace change and see oneself more fully. When we deepen our awareness, we can strengthen our sense of agency and move toward a more meaningful life.
Jeffrey Lawrence, Psy.D.
The reasons people seek out therapy are multifaceted. Very often, people find themselves feeling stuck in patterns that are confusing and daunting, even when they have some sense of what it might take to live a more fulfilling life. These patterns tend to persist in large part due to a lack of resources, whether time, supportive relationships, or unmet needs. Attempting to regain and nourish these resources can be difficult to do alone. While everyone’s journey will look different, my goal as a therapist is to help clients make sense of unwanted patterns, collaboratively create a roadmap, and move toward a more fulfilled and flexible life.
Julia Kirsch, Psy.D.
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, where my research focused on the grief experience of individuals bereaved by suicide. During my training, I worked at Hunter College Counseling and Wellness Services, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Therapists of New York, and the Parnes Clinic. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I received specialized training in working with individuals and couples affected by loss and trauma.
